Land Securities has selected Countryside Properties as its joint venture partner on the first phase of Europe’s largest regeneration scheme Ebbsfleet in Kent Thameside.
The Springhead quarter one of four planned for the 1,140-acre site between Dartford and Gravesham will comprise around 600 homes, 25% of which will be affordable.
It will also include a community centre, place of worship and GP surgery and will be linked to the local area via local rapid transit system Fastrack.
Detailed plans will be lodged in early 2006 with work starting on site later in the year.
Countryside beat 11 other housebuilders to form its second tie-up with LandSec, following the 600-home Waterstone Park project in Stone, north Kent.
The Ebbsfleet Quarry masterplan proposes 7,250 homes and 3m sq ft of offices, shops and community facilities.
