Gladedale plans £500m mixed-use schemes for Leeds

Remo Dipre’s Gladedale has plans for £500m of mixed-use development on two former chemical factory sites in Leeds city centre.

The sites will be regenerated by Reland, the commercial property arm of Gladedale, into 2.2m sq ft of office, residential and retail space

The first scheme, called the Works, comprises seven acres in the south-east of the city centre, between Rushbond’s 500,000 sq ft Brewery Wharf and Crosby Group’s 500,000 sq ft Clarence Dock mixed-use schemes.

The second scheme, Bankside, comprises twelve acres on Kirkstall Road, just outside the inner ring road to the west of the city centre.

Plans for Bankside are 1.3m sq ft of mixed-use development, with a further 969,000 sq ft planned at the Works.

Both schemes will feature about 60% residential, comprising family houses as well as flats.

Commercial development will comprise about 600,000 sq ft of offices, with the rest for retail and leisure.

Gladedale intend to submit formal planning application this summer, after presenting initial plans to Leeds City Council’s planning committee next month.
