Gerald Ronson announced today that work is to begin on his 41-storey tower in the City of London.
Speaking at the company’s annual lunch at the Savoy in London the Heron boss said the skyscraper in Bishopsgate that has photo-voltaic cells on the south flank to generate energy would be the “first in a new generation of buildings”.
Ronson also warned that although property continued to be “flavour of the month” it was the sheer weight of money and not the underlying potential that was pushing yields down.
“Do people really understand what they are investing in or are they following the herd?” he said.
