Birchwood starts to grow

MEPC has started work on 79,000 sq ft of speculative offices at its 1.75m sq ft Birchwood Park in Warrington, Cheshire. The company said it wanted to deliver the space well ahead of Miller Developments’ nearby 5m sq ft Omega scheme, which is likely to receive planning permission later this year. The space at Birchwood’s Bridgewater Place element will be split into two buildings — one of 42,250 sq ft and another of 36,750 sq ft, due for completion in spring 2007. In total, Bridgewater Place will provide 200,000 sq ft in five buildings. WHR Property Consultants and King Sturge are letting agents on the scheme.
