Millionaire donors set to be given another go at peerages

Ex Minvera boss Sir David Garrard has been told by Labour party chiefs that he can still go to the House of Lords despite his peerage nomination being blocked.

The Times has learnt that prime minister Tony Blair may put the nomination for the millionaire Labour donors that have been blocked recently on his resignation honours list, bypassing the vetting that prevented them from getting honours in the first place.
