The Home Builders Federation (HBF) has defended building thousands of new homes in the South East in light of a critical House of Lords Select Committee report on water management.
The report criticised the government’s plans because of a lack of water infrastructure. Stewart Baseley, executive chairman of the HBF, said: “Building new homes including the replacement of old stock is part of the solution, not the problem.”
