US-based software giant Microsoft has confirmed taking 92,802 sq ft at Land Securities’ Cardinal Place in Victoria, SW1.
As reported by EG in April, Bill Gates’ company will base its new Online Services Group, which includes Microsoft’s MSN and Windows Live, at the scheme.
The 15-year lease involves Microsoft taking 53,275 sq ft over floors one to five at 100 Victoria Street and a further 39,527 sq ft on the first floor of 80 Victoria Street.
It is believed to be paying £58 per sq ft.
The firm will relocate from its 46,000 sq ft offices at Warwick House, 8-13 Great Pulteney Street, W1.
The deal means that 100 Victoria Street is now fully let.
Land Securities’ Mike Hussey said: “We feel that the high quality office space we are offering in Cardinal Place would appeal to a high profile and prestigious user.
“We are delighted that one of the world’s largest and well-known brands has chosen it for its UK headquarters.”
General manager of Microsoft’s Online Services Group Sharon Baylay said: “Our UK business continues to grow rapidly.
“With the upcoming Windows Live and Microsoft adCenter launches, we’re projecting even stronger growth, and we needed new premises that would allow us to achieve our full potential.”
CBRE advised Land Securities and Jones Lang LaSalle represented MSN Microsoft.
