Birmingham Development Company is behind a new complex called The Cube that will open in the city centre on a canal site.
The Times says Ken Shuttleworth’s design evokes a gold jewellery box with the outside “a shimmering golden, jigsaw-like framework” and an open courtyard inside with shops.
The Cube will be the most expensive development per sq ft in the city and will have nine floors of flats, five floors of offices, four floors of shops and offices, three floors of parking, one floor will be a hotel and a top floor will house a restaurant and bar.
