Sir Ronald Cohen, one of the founding fathers of the UK private equity industry, is poised to go back into business just one year after quitting Apax Partners, the company which made his name.
It is understood that Cohen is in talks with Jacob Rothschild, the financier to set up a new asset management business straddling a wide range of alternative investments.
The first product to be launched is likely to be a property hedge fund which can go long and short on real estate equities.
