Cushman & Wakefield has poached Gerald Eve planning partner Ian Blacker to head its 18-strong UK planning team. Blacker joins as a partner, replacing Alistair Crowdy, who left in June to join GL Hearn as head of planning for London.
Redevco UK has sold 50 Pall Mall, SW1, to Legal & General for £49.5m, reflecting a 4.6% yield. The 34,000 sq ft property — Redevco UK’s maiden purchase, in 2002 — is let at £77.50 per sq ft. King Sturge advised Redevco; Strutt & Parker acted for L&G.
Knight Frank has made seven promotions to proprietary partner, with effect from 1 May 2007. In its commercial division it promoted Drew Oswald in Scotland, Andrew Sim in European investment, Richard Claxton in national investment and Ker Gilchrist in West End investment. In residential, Clive Hopkins in the country department, Paddy Dring in international and David Peters in valuations have been promoted.
Gazeley has sold 500,000 sq ft of units at its flagship Magna Park in Leicestershire for more than £50m. Pickering Properties paid more than £33m for two of the distribution units — at yields of 5.35% and 6.12% — while a third was sold to Resolution Asset Management for £18m, a 5% yield. Gazeley was represented by Strutt & Parker and Burbage Realty; Resolution by Atisreal; Pickering by Legat Corbishley.
Land Securities has promoted development manager Dominic O’Rourke to head of retail warehousing. He will replace Roland Nevett, who retires in January, and take responsibility for the £2.3bn retail warehouse portfolio.
