Ex-Russian minister buys City office block

Vladimir Chernukhin, a former deputy finance minister of Russia, has bought a period office block in the City of London.

He is thought to have paid £72m for 27-35 Poultry, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It is a hefty premium to the £40m for which it changed hands in July. He might turn it into a luxury hotel, service flats, or leisure, retail or offices.

Paul Kemsley, chairman of Rock owned the building with HBOS. HSBC is the occupant. Knight Frank acted for the vendors.
