The Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano-designed Pompidou Centre, in Paris, is branching out.
Building begins next week on the new Centre Pompidou-Metz, designed by Shigeru Ban, of Japan, 200 miles east of Paris and close to the borders of Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium.
It will be the Pompidou’s first outpost.
