Catalyst Capital buys portfolio of Italian shopping centres

Catalyst Capital has acquired a portfolio of three shopping centres in Italy and is shortly to complete on a fourth in deals totalling €174m (£117.6m).

The European asset management specialist, in conjunction with West Coast Capital and Bank of Scotland Corporate Europe, bought the centres from Italian property magnate Rafaele Di Mario’s company Dimafin.

The three acquired centres are located in Bufalotta and Barcaccia in Rome and in Lucca to the North West of Florence.

Catalyst, run by Julian Newiss, has also just added an office in the Liazza Duomo in Milan to its locations in Frankfurt and Paris as well as its headquarters in London.

Catalyst recently acquired a 200,000 sq ft office block at 1 America Square, London EC3, for £117m from Vincent Tchenguiz’s Consensus and the State of Qatar.
