Taylor Woodrow appointed for Nene regeneration scheme

Taylor Woodrow has been appointed residential development partner on the £47m Nene waterfront regeneration project in Cambridgeshire.

Fenland District Council has signed an agreement with Taylor Woodrow subsidiary Bryant Homes to build 370 homes on a 20-acre site in Wisbech.

Outline planning approval for 370 homes, a multi-use building called The Boathouse, which will include a yacht club, port office, meeting and conference facilities and 31 business units has already been given.

A detailed planning application is expected to be submitted early next year.

The creation of a landscaped Harbour Square and a pedestrian orientated space along Nene Parade between Silver Street and Russell Street and remediation works on two of the acquired sites already has the go-ahead as part of phase one.

The appointment comes two weeks after planning permission was granted on the waterfront project.

The East of England Development Agency (EEDA), English Partnerships and the European Regeneration Development Fund administered by GO-East, are the core funding partners behind the regeneration scheme.
