Gerald Ronson has secured funding from Oman and other Middle East investors for the £500m, 47-storey Heron Tower, in the City of London.
The funding will be through the Heron Tower Jersey Property Unit Trust. But questions remain over the viability of some schemes that will change the London skyline.
Ruth Kelly, has called in plans for the “Walkie-talkie”, in Fenchurch Street, that Land Securities was hoping to build. The project could be dragged into a planning inquiry.
Meanwhile, rumours suggested Difa had secured £200m from Arab Investments to build Difa Tower. But a person familiar with the situation said no firm deal had yet been agreed.
