Australian shopping centre giant Westfield has finally signed House of Fraser for its 40-acre Westfield London shopping centre at White City in west London.
The group said HoF completed its anchor store line-up, with the department store chain occupying a 103,000 sq ft three-level store in the south east corner of the scheme.
The joint venture with CGI, which invested in the shopping centre for the German open-ended property fund hausInvest europa, said Westfield London’s six anchor stores would occupy around one third of the total area of the scheme.
The six anchor stores are: House of Fraser, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Waitrose, Next and National Amusements.
Each retailer will create a flagship store alongside 265 smaller shops and a wide selection of cafes, restaurants, and brasseries.
Westfield said the development would act as a catalyst for the wider redevelopment and regeneration of the White City area, with a further £1bn investment expected in the immediate vicinity over the next 10 years.
