Countryside Properties has obtained planning consent for its new Urban Hive development in Clapton, Hackney.
The scheme will provide employment and community space three miles from the 2012 Olympic Stadium.
The new development forms part of the wider re-development of the former Lathams Timber Yard, where work has already commenced on a new residential development being marketed under the name of Altius.
Urban Hive Hackney will comprise eight units providing 2,299 sq ft of industrial use floorspace along with a prominent mixed-use building providing 1,679 sq ft of industrial use accommodation and 3,229 sq ft of A1 retail space.
In addition the scheme will provide community floor space in the form of a new doctor’s surgery overlooking a landscaped public square.
