Londis owners fear new minimum stock orders will close them down

Local independent convenience shops trading under the Londis fascia have warned that the symbol group’s demand that they increase their minimum stock orders by 50% could force them to close.

Londis, part of the Musgrave-Budgens-Londis group, is believed to have told its 2,100 store owners that they would have to spend a minimum of £3,000 a week from February 26.

Rural independents especially fear their businesses will become unsustainable.
