McDonald’s to sell LatAm restaurants

McDonalds’s, the world’s largest fast-food chain, is to sell 1,600 restaurants in Latin America and the Caribbean to a franchisee, in a transaction that it says will focus “on the markets with the greatest impact on our results”.

The company said it expected to receive about $700m from the sale of the restaurants to entrepreneur Woods Staton.
