A controversial £80m mixed-use scheme in Leicester has signed its first tenant, casino operator BIL Gaming.
The UK arm of Singapore-based BIL International – owner of the Thistle hotel group – will take 30,000 sq ft on a 25-year lease at St George’s Tower, at a rent of £15 per sq ft.
The signing is a coup for developer Amir Zarbarfi as the project has faced several months of delays after the Leicester Regeneration Co targeted the area as part of a proposed new business quarter.
The St George’s Tower scheme also has 150,000 sq ft of speculative offices and a 22-storey residential tower. North Rae Sanders is the letting agent.
