Advantage West Midlands (AWM) strengthens development team

Advantage West Midlands (AWM) has strengthened the development team managing its £160m land and property portfolio by signing up recruits from the private and public sector.

Carla Corbett arrives as development manager from King Sturge, having worked on one of AWM’s biggest regeneration projects, the former tyre dump site at Sideway, Stoke-on-Trent, now occupied by ProLogis.

Also joining at the same level is Ivan Kite, from Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.

His last major task was to secure the CPO for the redevelopment and extension of the Cornbow shopping centre and bus station in Halesowen.

Kite had previously worked on one of the region’s longest-running regeneration proposals; St Modwen’s Dudley Zoo and Castle Hill mixed-use scheme, which he guided through planning consent.

AWM’s development director, Stuart Kirkwood, says both will be key appointments as the agency looks to bring forward two major schemes in the Wolverhampton area – i54 and Bilston Urban Village – and Chatterley Valley, in Staffordshire.
