UK-based investors looking for flexibility with security of income overseas are being targeted by a new leaseback scheme in France, launched by property specialist Assetz.
Stuart Law, managing director of Assetz, said: “Although French leaseback remains one of the most popular choices for British investors, many are put off by the length of the commitment required and restrictions concerning personal use of the building.
“This new scheme will offer buyers a solution to the problems, together with the benefits of leaseback.”
Starting prices for one-bedroom apartments at the “Residence la Pinède” complex in the fishing port of Le Bacarès, Languedoc-Roussillon, are £81,600.
The region has seen capital growth of 10% annually, compared with a national average of 7%.
Investors can claim back VAT on the purchase and receive a 5% rental yield for five years.
They may use the property as frequently as they choose and sell on after five years, taking the capital profits, or continue to rent out to a management company for another four years.
