Linden Homes agrees £25m Bristol heritage partnership

Linden Homes Western has agreed a £25m partnership with the ss Great Britain Trust to redevelop the old dockyard buildings alongside Brunel’s famous ship on Bristol harbourside.

Linden Homes will deliver a new education, archive and library facility for the trust, to be known as the Brunel Institute, above which it will build 145 new one and two bedroom apartments.

The scheme will also provide a learning and outreach centre, visitor entrance, ticket office and shop.

Bristol Council gave full planning consent for the scheme to Countryside Properties in January.

Linden Homes has now acquired the leasehold interest on the land, the freehold of which is owned by the council.

Alder King acted for the trust. The architect is Stride Treglown.

Linden Homes operates throughout the South, South East and West regions and forms a part of Galliford Try’s house building division.
