Ernst & Young take offices at Bridgewater Place

Yorkshire’s tallest building, Bridgewater Place in Leeds, has completed the signing of its second tenant.

Accounting firm Ernst & Young has taken 27,000 sq ft of offices on the fourth floor of the Landmark and St James Securities’ building.

More than 300 staff will be relocated to the 510,000 sq ft building, which is a mixed-use scheme involving 201 residential apartments over 22 floors, 235,000 sq ft of offices, 20,000 sq ft of retail units and restaurants.

Law firm Eversheds took 125,000 sq ft of offices space in July at a rent of around £24 per sq ft.

Phillip Hilling, Yorkshire senior partner for Ernst & Young, said: “Ernst & Young Global is investing heavily in our UK practice as part of a strategy to achieve market leadership.

Yorkshire is regarded as a thriving economy with potential for significant and sustainable growth for our practice.
