Stoford/BoS jv acquires Brum Stock Exchange building

A joint venture between Stoford Developments and the Bank of Scotland (BoS) has acquired one of Birmingham’s most historic buildings, the former Stock Exchange on Great Charles Street in the city centre.

The developer has paid £5.6m for the 1920s building situated in a conservation area.

It plans to carry out a refurbishment for current tenant EFG Harris Allday, one of the UK’s leading stockbrokers and investment managers, which will be taking a new lease on completion.

Work on the building will begin in early 2008 with completion scheduled for early 2009.
