Team appointed for Hastings development report

Hastings White Rock

Hastings council has appointed Capita Symonds and S&P Architects to draw up a development report for the Sussex town’s White Rock area.

The council said it wanted to attract inward investment, retain and develop the student population, and boost Hastings as a leisure destination.

The council is planning a two-stage process. The first stage will consider the financial and physical feasibility of any proposed development while the second stage will include the preparation of a masterplan setting out longer-term development objectives.

Peter Finch, lead member for community well-being at the council, said: “I am delighted that this long-awaited project is moving forward and we are very keen to see the proposals that Capita Symonds and S&P Architects come up with for this very important facility for our town.”
