Treasury submits Dublin hotel plans

Spencer Dock hotel, Dublin

Treasury Holdings’ Spencer Dock Development Company has submitted a planning application for a five-star hotel at its National Conference Centre site in Dublin.

The 35-storey hotel, which will be built on North Wall Quay at the city’s docklands, will form part of Ireland’s first conference centre.

It has been designed by Shay Cleary & Associates, and has been developed in conjunction with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

Along with the conference centre and hotel, the regeneration of Spencer Dock will include 3m sq ft of offices, 3,300 apartments and a public park known as Central Square.

John Bruder, chief executive of Treasury Holdings said: “I hope that the plan will be warmly received by all concerned, including those who work and live within the city, and that we can move forward with our plans to ensure that the development proceeds in parallel with the National Conference Centre.”

The Conference Centre is scheduled to open in the second half of 2010.
