Surfing is coming to London’s Tower Hamlets as a result of a £20m Venture Extreme project at Silvertown Quays which has won outline planning permission.
The Guardian says the building work will transform the former grain dock.
David Taylor, a former regeneration adviser to ex-deputy prime minister John Prescott, is backing the project which is the brainchild of adventure sports enthusiast Steve Jones. Jones is also planning a £350m centre in Rotherham.
