CBRE buys Aberdeen property services firm

CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) has become the first global property practice to expand into Aberdeen with the purchase of local property services firm Paul Gee & Co.

CBRE said the purchase of the privately-owned company, which was set up 27 years ago, would enable the company to “expand its leadership position” in Scotland.

Aberdeen is currently undergoing a boom thanks to rising oil prices, while Paul Gee’s client list includes number of global energy companies.

Martin Samworth, UK managing director at CBRE, said: “This acquisition enhances our capabilities in Scotland and reinforces our brand positioning as the premier firm for client service and market insight across the entire UK region.

“We are now a leading player in Scotland capable of delivering high quality expertise and advice wherever our clients’ business interests may be.”

Paul Gee & Co managing director Paul Gee, added: “CBRE’s global platform and strength in the marketplace will give us an excellent opportunity to grow our position both in Scotland and internationally.”

CBRE is the third major firm to acquire a smaller Scottish practice since the start of the year.

Last month, GVA Grimley bought Glasgow-based Alan Watt Consulting, while Jones Lang LaSalle acquired niche leisure specialist Creevy.
