HBA calls for Brown to help kick-start development

The House Builders Association (HBA) has written to Gordon Brown calling for action to help kick-start development.

It wants the prime minister to bring forward £8bn earmarked for social housing over the next four years and for planners to give priority to houses rather than flats.

An HBA spokesman said housebuilders were facing massive uncertainly which risked tens of thousands of units forecast to be built this year being put on hold.
