The French and UK commercial property market will be brought into sharp focus with Hammerson’s full-year results today.
Other companies in the sector have undergone a 50-75 basis point expansion in yields, and property values have declined as much as 10% because of turbulence in the financial markets.
The Independent says Hammerson’s high-quality portfolio is expected to offset any negative capital movements although many in the market remain worried about its NAV which is though to have been affected by the more general decline in the value of commercial property.
Some forecasters predict a 9% fall while others forecast up to 16%.
