Erik Ruane takes plum EF post Erik Ruane has been appointed development director of the Europa Fund, the 1bn closed equity fund managed by Europa Capital Partners. Ruane was formerly development director at UK property company Development Securities where he worked on schemes such as No1 Curzon Street in London’s West End, Cambourne Business Park and Blackfriars Court in the City of London. “The Europa Fund will benefit greatly from someone of Erik’s calibre and expertise,” said Charles Graham, chief executive of Europa Capital Partners. The Europa Fund’s development programme has potential for 257,600m2 of office development throughout Europe. This includes an office development site in Vienna’s Simmering district with consent for up to 72,000m2 and an office development site in in Cornella, Barcelona, with outline consent for 105,000m2. “Our projects have a good mix of security and long-term opportunitty for value creation,” said Graham. The fund, which works with country partners who co-invest in Europa’s acquisitions, has now commited around 45% of its equity. The fund invests in western and central Europe. |
