Paris très cher as retail centre

Paris’s avenue des Champs- Elysées is the second most expensive retail location in the world, according to Healey & Baker.

It has replaced Hong Kong in second place with the French capital now costing $6,026 per m2 a year. New York’s east 57th street remains the most expensive location at $7,535 per m2 a year in Healey & Baker’s Main streets across the world 2000 report.

The next most expensive European location is London’s Oxford Street, which has retained its number four position at $4,263 per m2 a year. This is followed by Athen’s Ermou ranked number seven, costing $2,732 per m2 a year.

Two Turkish locations – Ankara and Izmir – have reported the highest rental increases over the last year at 125% and 100% respectively. France has six locations in the top 15 cities reporting the highest rental growth. These include Lyon at 100% and Marseille at 66.7%.
