Australian group Lend Lease is Shell’s preferred partner for a 52,000m2 subterranean retail and leisure scheme on London’s South Bank.
Last month Shell shortlisted Lend Lease, and UK company Pillar which was pitching in partnership with Carillion.
The scheme is underneath the Shell Centre office complex and is opposite the South Bank cultural quarter where the South Bank Centre board is promoting extensive redevelopment.
Shell’s proposal, drawn up by Zeidler Roberts Partnership, is for a 30,000m2 leisure and entertainment complex with associated retail.
Lend Lease is waiting to hear if it has won the £1.5bn Kings Cross project in the UK.
