UK insurance company Standard Life has let 2,668m2 of offices at La Plaine, an out-of-town scheme between Brussels city centre and the airport. Pharmaceutical firm Aventis Pharma will pay a rent of €192 (BFr7,750) per m2 a year for the space at Plaine 9, on of five buildings that Standard Life is developing at the site.
Martin McGuire, European investment director, property investments, at the insurer, said: “This level of rent reflects the scarcity of good property in and around Brussels at the present time.”
The last letting in Plaine 9 was to US multinational Baxter last autumn.
