BTP SPIE and Caisse de Dépôt et Consignations subsidiary SCIC are teaming up to form a joint facility management company, with an estimated turnover of 91.4m (FFr600m).
The joint venture already manages some 2m sq m of offices and the company split will see SCIC taking 60%, while SPIE will hold the remaining 40% stake. They both hope to achieve a 152m (FFr1bn) turnover by 2004.
SPIE Services, a subsidiary of BTP SPIE, already manages a total 150,000 sq m of offices, generating a turnover of FFr100m. It added another 700,000 sq m to its total in a deal with Laurent Bouillet. SCIC manages 900,000 sq m of space.
Commenting on the move, SCIC chairman François Jouven said that facility management is currently growing at a rate of 15% in France.
