Resolution, JER and Blackstone are close to securing 200,000 sq ft requirement
Resolution, JER Partners and Blackstone are close to securing one of the South East’s most sought-after office requirements.
Reckitt Benckiser is in talks to take 200,000 sq ft at their 650,000 sq ft London Gate development in Hayes, Middlesex. The 1920s-built, Wallis Gilbert-designed complex lies 2 miles north of Heathrow airport.
It had also shortlisted Hines’ and Hermes’ 230,000 sq ft Hyde Park Hayes scheme in Middlesex.
The world’s largest manufacturer of household cleaning goods, which makes air freshener Airwick and cleaning liquid Cillit Bang, appointed Vail Williams to find a new HQ in July last year.
The rapidly expanding Reckitt wants to move out of two offices totalling 135,780 sq ft in Slough, Berkshire: the 86,780 sq ft Turner House on Bath Road and the 49,000 sq ft Wellcroft House on Wellcroft Street.
A source close to the negotiations said Resolution and Blackstone told Hillingdon council that they were finalising a letting that would bring “a very large occupier” to Hayes.
“They aren’t openly discussing the new occupier’s name, but it’s obvious it is Reckitt,” he said.
A spokeswoman for Reckitt said it continued to review its office needs.
Resolution, Blackstone, JER and their agents, Savills and Jones Lang LaSalle, and Reckitt’s agent, Vail Williams, were unavailable for comment.
l French environmental giant Veolia has launched a search for a headquarters of up to 140,000 sq ft in the Western Corridor.
