Castlemore signs Grimsby Town FC stadium deal

Castlemore Securities has teamed up with Grimsby Town Football Club for a mixed-use development including a new 21,200-seat stadium in the Lincolnshire town.

The stadium will be built next to a 150,000 sq ft retail warehouse development which received outline planning permission in November last year.

A joint venture agreement has been signed giving Castlemore exclusive rights to work on the detailed planning application and subsequent delivery of the proposed project at Great Coates, on the North-West outskirts of Grimsby.

Brad Critcher, managing director of Castlemore Securities, said: “We are delighted that Grimsby Town FC has chosen Castlemore to work with them on this project.

“It recognises our market leading position in out of town retail development, and the in house expertise we can bring to the whole construction project.

“We expect to be able to make a detailed planning application later this year with work likely to begin on site late in 2009.”
