New partners and promotions bolster DJ despite downturn

Drivers Jonas has promoted 10 staff to partner status and has pledged to take on 25 new graduates this year, despite the fall-off in activity that has hit the industry.

Five London-based employees – project managers Tim Chambers and Stephen Jepson, West End office agent Chris Lewis, Kwajo Mensah from the residential division and David Reynolds, on the neighbourly matters team – are to be elevated to partner level.

In addition, planners John Cooper from the Manchester office and Mathew Jones from Birmingham have been promoted, as have Manchester-based construction specialist Joby Howard, Slough-based asset and property manager Sarah Bean and Richard Spence, who works in the valuations and consultancy team based in Edinburgh.

The promotions will take effect from 1 June.

Managing partner Nick Shepherd said: “Although markets are undoubtedly tough, we still expect to recruit more than 75 new people during the 2008-09 financial year, including 25 graduates who start in September.”

The LLP will also take on seven undergraduates, making a total of 32 – two fewer than last year.
