Hotel chain Hotel du Vin has bought a converted warehouse in
Hotel du Vin paid an undisclosed sum to housebuilder Bellway for the warehouse at the Tannery development. The Tannery also includes 440 houses, four shops and a bar/restaurant.
The hotel will open in 2010.
Bruce McKendrick, managing director, Hotel du Vin, said: “We are delighted to be bringing Hotel du Vin to Canterbury, where the brand will deliver a new style of hotel with superb rooms, fabulous wine cellars and a great value bistro and bar, In addition to offering luxurious bedrooms, it will be a great place for locals to meet, eat and drink.”
Hotel du Vin bought the 22-bedroom St Andrews Golf Hotel in
Christie & Co advised Bellway.
