Carpetright has threatened to refuse to sign up for any more new shops in Britain unless landlords offer rent concessions to retailers.
The company has just moved into a state-of-the-art £25m, 550,000 sq ft warehouse in Rainham, Essex.
It has more than 500 stores across the UK.
