Ailing AIG puts City airport stake on runway

US insurer American International Group (AIG) has agreed to sell part of its minority stake in London City Airport to its joint venture partner, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

AIG is to offload the stake in the airport to Global Infrastructure Partners, whose shareholders are Credit Suisse and GE. GIP and AIG paid just under £750m for the airport in December 2006.
