The Duke of Roxburghe is searching for a joint venture partner to redevelop and run a hotel on his estate in the Scottish Borders.
Guy Innes Ker, the tenth Duke of Roxburghe, has submitted a planning application to expand the 22-room Roxburghe Hotel to 58 bedrooms, plus build a number of time-share lodges.
The hotel will also include a new restaurant, spa, kitchen, meeting rooms and wedding function rooms. Currently the hotel, which is linked to the adjacent Roxburghe golf course, turns over about £2m annually.
The hotel will compete with the nearby five-star resort Rutherford Castle Hotel, in West Linton, which is set to be built by a jv comprising De Vere Hotels and UK developer Manor Kingdom Estates.
