Derby Cityscape has unveiled plans for the £14.5m redevelopment of the city’s outdated railway station and surrounding area, ahead of the scheme’s public consultation period which starts tomorrow.
As part of the vision for the outdated station, a new station building, multi-storey car park and transport interchange for buses and taxis would be created on the existing
When market conditions improve, 380,000 sq ft of office space and 17,000 sq ft of retail will also be developed on land in or around the station.
Derby Cityscape is now due to start a search for consultants to draw up detailed plans for the redevelopment.

Building work on the interchange will start on site in November, with the other construction work following on during 2010-12.
The new vision is in addition to the existing £18m investment to improve the station’s platforms for which work has already started and is due to be completed in June.
