Beaulieu Estate sells leasehold of New Forest hotel

Lord Montagu’s Beaulieu Estate has sold the leasehold interest of the Master Builder’s House Hotel in Buckler’s Hard in the New Forest National Park to Hillbrooke Hotels.

The 25-bedroom hotel, which was sold for around £450,000, has recently been refurbished and includes a bar and restaurant, conference suite, staff accommodation for up to six staff and a 40-space car park.

The hotel was formerly the home of Henry Adams, the Master Shipbuilder who oversaw the design and building of many of the Royal Navy’s ships of the 18th and 19th century.

The Master Builder’s House Hotel is Hillbrooke Hotels’ fourth boutique property, which all trade under the banner ‘Quirky Luxury’.

It also operates the New Inn in Coln St Aldwyns, Gloucestershire; the Bath Arms in Longleat, Wiltshire; and the Elephant in Pangbourne, Berkshire.

Ed Bellfield, director of Christie + Co, said: “This is a well-known landmark hotel that has been rejuvenated by the new owners providing individual accommodation within an idyllic location. It will fit perfectly into Hillbrooke Hotels’ impressive portfolio of boutique hotels.”

Christie + Co advised Beaulieu Estate; Hillbrooke Hotels was unrepresented.
