Bill Siegle has officially taken over as senior partner of Cluttons LLP.
Siegle, formerly head of commercial, succeeds Richard Cotton, who had held the position since 2003.
John Wood has become head of commercial.
Siegle said: “Some people may think that becoming senior partner during what appears to be a very deep recession, and one that has been severe on the property industry, is the worst time to be taking over and in many respects they are correct.
“I am certainly under no illusions as to the task ahead and do not expect things to will be easy for any of us over the coming months.
“However, I know we have an extremely good business, a superb brand and tremendous reputation. I am confident that we have the fundamentals in place to take advantage of the upturn when it comes.”
Siegle said that Cluttons would concentrate on growing its core areas of business, including rating, telecoms and building consultancy.
EG revealed Siegle’s appointment in June last year.
