The consortium beat competition from the Balfour Beattie-led Progress Property consortium and another group backed by architect Broadway Malyan and developer New City Living.

A statement from City Legacy said: “This innovative project will not only showcase the new face of the East End of Glasgow to a world-wide audience during the Commonwealth Games, it will also transform Dalmarnock to become a much sought-after riverside residential area.”
City Legacy comprises developers and contractors CCG Homes, Cruden, Mactaggart & Mickel and WH Malcolm.
Jones Lang LaSalle, Davis Langdon, Turley Associates and architect RMJM are also involved in the successful bid.
During the Games, around 8,000 athletes and officials will be housed at the village.
Once the Games conclude, around 300 of the new homes will be offered on the open market, with 300 reserved for social housing and 100 for rent.
A further 765 units will be then be built by City Legacy.
Work on the scheme is due to begin next year and will be completed six months ahead of the start of the Games.
