Kurt Geiger walks into North East

Footwear retailer Kurt Geiger is opening its first store in the North East at Land Securities’ and British Land’s Bon Accord Centre in Aberdeen.

The retailer, which opened it first store in 1963, has taken a 1,527 sq ft shop located on the ground floor of the shopping centre on a 10-year lease.

The store is set to open in August, to coincide with the opening a number of clothing retailers including River Island, Topshop, Topman and Next at the centre.

Kurt Geiger now has more than 20 stores nationwide as well as more than 90 boutiques at UK and European department stores.

On behalf of the LandSec/BL partnership, which also owns the neighbouring St Nicholas Centre, Katherine Armstead said: “We have enjoyed a flurry of fashion retailers launching new stores within the Bon Accord Centre, and we are delighted that, once again, another top fashion name is choosing it as a place to do business.

“The arrival of the new store will further add strength to our tenant mix in Aberdeen ensuring we can continue to attract more top brand names as well as improve the shopping environment for our customers.

“Kurt Geiger will no doubt help raise the profile of Bon Accord and St Nicholas centres further.”

Cushman & Wakefield acted for Bon Accord & St Nicholas while Harrods Estates acted for Kurt Geiger.
