US law firm takes Gherkin offices

US law firm Greenberg Traurig has moved into offices at 30 St Mary’s Axe, London EC3.

Its London arm, known as Greenberg Traurig Maher, has leased office space from law firm Mayer Brown on the 31st floor of the building.

The Miami-based firm opened the UK branch in July, after hiring Mayer Brown’s former global vice-chairman Paul Maher; it was based in temporary office space at City Point.

A spokesperson for Mayer Brown said: “We have been looking to move to accommodate our growing insurance and reinsurance group for some time and the deal with Greenberg suits us because it enables us to locate the group in our new offices in 201 Bishopsgate, while maintaining meeting rooms at St Mary’s Axe to ensure that we retain proximity to our insurance industry clients.”
