Circle squares up for Mardyke plan

  Housing association Circle Anglia has been given outline planning permission for the £75m redevelopment of the Mardyke Estate in Rainham, Essex.   The group will build 555 homes at the site, around 340 of which will be for affordable rent, 155 for private sale and 60 for shared ownership.   The PRP-designed scheme will also feature a community centre, offices, shops and new open spaces.   Circle is in talks with the HCA to receive up to £28m to help get the development started.   helen.roxburgh@egi.co.uk
